New Do!

I got a new haircut and color with a new stylist on Friday. I really love it! So I thought I'd send her a thank you card.
I started out by stamping the girl (who kind of has the same hair as me now) and embossing her with Range detail black embossing powder on watercolor paper. I colored her with my Tombow markers. Her hair was supposed to be blonder but my Tombow blender had some red ink left in it so her hair went red so I had to darken it up! I stamped her again on a scrap of designer paper and cut out her bag and glued it on top of the original bag on the watercolor paper.
I used my new Large Scallop Octogon Nestabilities and cut out a blue and brown shape (same size I just cut the brown one in the middle). I stamped the special thanks message on a scrap of Bazzill cardstock and scored the "banner" with my Scor-It board to make it pop up (an idea I originally saw on the A Muse stamp blog). I added some Kaiser Blue flowers and some white dots with my Ranger white gel pen and voila! done! Thanks for looking!

Let's Get Together!

I have a friend that I do lunch with in January to celebrate our birthdays. Unfortunately, we've missed the last 2 years so I thought I would whip up this card and set a lunch date with her.
I stamped the "lets get together" stamp on a scrap of vellum with Memories black dye ink and set aside to dry. I used the NEW Spellbinders Classic frames to cut a frame out of text weight Stardream paper (it's quite shimmery) while the die was still in place after I'd cut out the frame I used my Brillance Platinum Planet ink to ink inside the holes of the frame. I then cut out a swirl with the Spellbinder Illumination borders and did the same thing to it with my Platinum ink. I matted everything as shown on my designer paper. I found a white Bazzill silk flower in my stash and used my Brillance Pearlescent Jade to stamp a swirl on it. The yellow dots on the frame and the flower are made by yellow Liquid Pearls.

Penny Black Feature stamp

Crafty Capers is featuring this new Penny Black stamp called Fireworks (3948K). It is on sale for $12.25 for a limited time at the Lantzville store as well as the webstore.

I started this card by cutting out a rectangle out of watercolor paper with my Spellbinders long rectangles then I took a blue Tombow marker and drew a line around the edge of the cardstock. I then took a very wet paintbrush and pulled the color into the center and let it dry. The blue color dried quite blotchy but I like how it looks - kinda cloud like! Then I stamped and embossed Fireworks with black embossing powder. I colored the leaves and flowers with my Tombow markers. I matted the flower with a scrap of Bazzill cardstock. The background designer paper is from DCWV the Elegant 6x6 cardstock pack. I edged it with Versamagic Mango Magic. The ribbon is from Crafty Capers.

Thanks for looking.

Belated Easter Card

I should have posted this yesterday but when I realized I had not taken a photo it was quite dark so did not think the photo would turn out very well.
The image is by Penny Black, imagine that!, which was stamped with Smokey Grey Versafine ink. I colored the image with my Towmbow markers on watercolor paper. I used my classic scallop circle Nestabilities then the NEW inverted scallop Nestabilities for the mat. I LOVE the look. The inverted scallop sets are the first ones I have bought out of the newest release and I don't regret it. The background orange paper was stamped with a clear Stampendous set called Circle Talk Spots with Ranger's Peach Bellini dye ink. The background designer paper is by Fancy Pants. I cut the plain blue circle with my classic circle Nestabilities and embossed it with my Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots folder. The ribbon is from a roll I've had kicking around for years.
All supplies can be purchased from Crafty Capers (physical store or on-line). Thanks for looking!

The only way to know life...

is to love many things. I love this Penny Black saying it is probably my most used stamp in my current collection.
I'm quite happy with how this card turned - simple and classy. The one thing I would change though is I would buy the Spellbinders small classic ovals. This card is an excellent example of how big the mat is when you cut 2 shapes in the same set. These ovals are from the Spellbinder large classic oval set (the largest and second largest) see how big the mat is? If I had the small size as well the mat would have been 1/2 that.
I started out by cutting my 2 ovals then I used a Hero Art wild flower stamp. I used my Tombow markers dirctly on the wildflower stamp and stamped two times then reinked I did this probably 3 times. I then inked up my Penny Black saying with Versamagic (chalk) ink in Aegean Blue and stamped over the wild flowers. The rest is pretty straight forward. The designer paper is by Fancy Pants and the rhinestones are by Kaisercraft. The little ribbon embellishment was me being cheap. I had about an inch left of my ribbon too small for me to tie in a knot and I didn't want to throw it away! So I looped it around I quite like it.
Thanks for looking and all stamps and supplies are available from Crafty Capers.
One final thing before I go. Crafty Capers is closed today for Good Friday but we are open tomorrow (Saturday) and we are having a fun promotion called the Crafty Capers EGGstravaganza! Bring your purchases to the cash desk tomorrow, pick an Easter egg, open it and see what your discount is. It will be anything from 15-50% off your entire purchase! It should be lots of fun. Hope to see you tomorrow!

Toadily Happy!

I had a good day so I am "toadily happy"! Ha! I had a busy day today starting out with Kim Teasdale (Paper in the Works) taught a sold out Cuttlebug class and while she taught I got to play. This card is called Diarama card, a design I have never made before the instructions are here. I wish I had taken a top view of the card. There are 3 layers and it is about 2" deep and will fold flat for mailing but a front on shot does not do a good job of showing it.
All the stamps are in a new clear set by Penny Black called Toadily. I love them they are so cute!! If you wish to purchase them they are available at the store in Lantzville and on the Crafty Capers on-line store.
All the images were stamped with Versafine Onxy ink. The bees/flies have Stickles Glitter Glue on them and the frog eyes have Ranger's Glossy Accents on them to make them more "googly"
Thanks for looking and hopefully, I can get back to blogging more regularly.
