A Pink Stampscapes

It has been a while since I pulled out my Stampscapes stamps and I was glad I did since this card turned out nicely and was fairly quick to do.
I started with a piece of white glossy cardstock which I brayered with my Memento Angel Pink ink. I cut a circle mask out of a post it note with my Spellbinder circles then using my Colorbox stylus wands and white foam tips I applied Memento Rose Bud and Ladybug inks making sure to leave the center of the piece lighter and the edges darker. I flicked some water onto the piece to create some lighter dots (can't see them too well in this photo). I stamped the Stampscapes stamps Leafy Branch and Gulls on the piece along with a Hero Arts clear sentiment. I matted as shown and added a piece of May Arts twine along with a clear button. Card completed! I like that this card could be done in any color scheme for either a male or female birthday.
It's almost the long weekend hope everyone enjoys today!! :)

Penny Black new arrivals

Penny Black stamps arrived on Monday and if I do say so myself we have a great bunch of stamps in stock now! The last couple of days have been really busy in the store so many of the new items stocks are already getting depleted (but never fear we have Hero Arts, Stampendous, Fancy Pants papers, May Arts ribbon and Ranger inks on their way)!
Here are a few of the new Penny Black stamps currently in stock:

My MIL is having a birthday next week so I bought this set to make her a card since she is an owl nut!

The "fat bottomed" girls are back riding their bikes and dancing. They were VERY popular last spring!

Might need to buy this one since I, ahem, am a little late on a present/card for my niece (good thing is she is away right now so I can use that as an excuse!! LOL)
Penny Black is having a "clean and simple" theme on their blog this week. The design team always has amazing projects.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Big Shot Class Reject

I have been teaching a Cuttlebug/Big Shot Tips and Tricks class over the past few weeks (2 more classes April 8 & 19 check out the Crafty Capers website if you are interested in registering). This card was not jazzy enough in my mind so did not make the cut so thought I would share. I think the official fold type is called a "swing card" and I made the 1/2 circle with a Spellbinder die! I embellished the circle with some Spellbinder circle mats, a Memory Box butterfly die and a Hero Arts sentiment. Designer paper is by BoBunny Alora collection & Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock..
I added some Ranger Stickles for some extra bling and to finish off the card.

A happy gram!

I made this pink and yellow panel during my heat embossing demo a few weeks back and still liked enough to make it into a card a few weeks later.
The panel started out as a piece of yellow Bazzill cardstock. I stamped the script (Penny Black) in Memento Bamboo Leaves ink then stamped the solid Impression Obsession butterfly over top of the script randomly with my rather grubby Versamark ink pad (those who come to demos know what I am talking about LOL) then heat embossed the butterflies with clear embossing powder. I then used a Colorbox stylus handle and foam tip to apply Memento Rose Bud ink over most of the panel but I paid particular attention to applying ink over the butterflies. The embossing powder will resist the ink and the yellow butterflies will really pop! I added some Yellow Liquid Pearl dots to the panel then matted the piece as shown. I stamped the Happy Gram saying by Hero Arts, used a Sizzix chevron embossing folder to emboss a strip of white cardstock to hide my ribbon ends then added some May Arts chevron ribbon. Pretty simple card but very striking!
BTW next Saturday Demo is Saturday April 13 between 10:30 - 12:30 (free, drop in) topic will be Peel Off stickers.
Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Fantastic Birthday

Got a few minutes to play this week. Here is one of the cards I got made.
Fairly simple to do with you own a Big Shot or Cuttlebug. The lacy envelope is a die by Cottage Cutz and will fit a gift card I however, chose to use the envelope as a pocket for my birthday message (sentiment by Hero Arts). The dragonfly is a die by Memory Box called Meadow Dragonfly. The swirl and corner are by Spellbinder. Designer paper is by BoBunny (Alora collection).
Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Secret Garden & Bluebirds

I had a play date last weekend and since I was pretty tired I opted to color a bunch of images since I can do that with very little brain power. I did not have a particular plan in mind while I was coloring however I opted to got outside of my usual comfort zone and color with Prismacolor pencil crayons (in my comfort zone) and odorless mineral spirits (outside my comfort zone). I also, used colors I normally pass over especially for nature images.
I brought my colored image to work with me on Tuesday intending to throw it in the recycling bin but then a stack of Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper caught my eye. It all matched my colored image!! Add some Graphic 45 flowers and... after that, the card came together pretty quickly!
I am very happy with how the card turned out now gotta find someone who is worthy of this card! ;)
Thank you to everyone who stops by and a special thanks for the comments I appreciate everyone!

Heat Embossing Demo Tomorrow

Well, the heat embossing demo is tomorrow so I am madly getting myself organized (or should I saying trying???) This card is another of my demo samples. Again, embossed with Ranger's Seafoam white embossing powder I am realizing now I seem to be obsessed with white embossing powder at the moment. I do use other colors honest I just happen to have picked all the white embossing samples to photograph!
I was going for a vintage feel for this card and it worked out well, I think, even if vintage is not normally my style. Stop by Crafty Capers tomorrow  (March 2) between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm if you would like to learn how to make this card. I have a bunch of other embossing powder techniques planned as well. Hope to see you tomorrow!
