Crafty is open today

Vancouver Island had a small snowfall last night and it is very pretty but I am also happy to report the roads are bare and wet and easily travellable so we are open today 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. We are open tomorrow (Saturday) 9:30 am - 3:30 pm and we have a free demo tomorrow (10:30 - 12:30) as well. The topic is "stuff you bought but don't know how to use". The items MUST have been purchased as Crafty Capers 1 item per person please (Ok you can bring a couple of items and I will get to them if we have time but I want to make sure everyone has at least one of their items covered).
Hope everyone's Christmas preparations are coming together!

Tis the Season!

A week or so back I gave myself a challenge. I bought 4 sheets of Echo Park's Tis the Season pattern paper, 2 sheets of Bazzill cardstock and 1 sheet of Coredination Glitter Silk cardstock. I challenged myself to see how many cards I could make. I easily made 6 cards and I have a bunch of bits and pieces left over so I can probably make a few more cards as well. I did cheat a bit and used my dies to cut out embellishments and some Stickles to add some extra glitter! :) The cards came together fairly easily and inexpensively as well!
I am officially done my Christmas cards however I am loving this Echo Park line so much I might actually get a head start on my cards for 2014! For anyone who might have an extra card have you seen this sweet story?  I plan to send them a card.
I hope everyone's Christmas plans are running as smoothly as mine! Thanks for stopping by!

Glitter card & Coffee and a Card tomorrow!

I did a glitter demo over the weekend at the store and this tree was done with a technique with Sakura Glaze pens and glitter. I was so enthralled with this cute tree I decided to finish my coloring and make it into a card. The card was very quick to make as the tree is quite small so you can color it up quickly.
The tree is an Elizabeth Craft Design Peel Off sticker and as I previously said was colored with Sakura Glaze gel pens on top of Glitter Ritz Microfine Warm Highlight glitter. I cut the vanilla frame with my paper cutter and Spellbinder square dies. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and was stamped with Hero Art Regal Red ink (Love this color). For a bit of extra sparkle I used my new clear Wink of Stella brush pen on the word "holiday". Pattern paper is by Authentique.
Just a reminder we have a final Coffee and a Card make and take tomorrow (Monday) at Crafty Capers 10:30 am - 1:00 pm. Cost is $2 and/or a food donation. All monies and food will go to Nanaimo's Hamperville food bank. Please bring your basic class kit with you to class. I understand the demand for Christmas hampers is higher than ever this year so every little bit of money or food will help. Thank you in advance!

Glitter Demo Today

Just a reminder there is a free glitter demo at Crafty today 10:30 - 12:30 pm.
I have been playing with Echo Park's Tis the Season paper, recently, (LOVE it) and came up with this card. As always, glitter is not the greatest to photograph however the black and white paper was unsparkly now it is all sparkly and frosty looking. The poinsettia (Spellbinders) has a nice shimmer to it as well as I used my new red Wink of Stella pen on it to give it some extra jazz! I will be showing the joys of these pens in the demo as well!
Hope to see you a the demo but if not just a reminder Crafty is having a Hamperville Food Bank fundraiser on Monday. For the price of $2 and/or a food donation you can make 1 card (Christmas) designed by Kathy. Please bring your basic class kit with you. Hope everyone has had an amazing week. :)

19 days and counting!

Wow 19 days until Christmas! Crazy! Strangely enough I am fairly in control of things around here. Did my last pre-Christmas Costco shop tonight (and parking was a breeze!), cards are made, and 1/2 my presents are purchased. Feeling pretty good! I need to get started on my baking and a menu for Christmas day but that should be pretty easy!
I am SURE I am so organized this year because I made this fabulous Christmas Countdown project back in November! Love how it turned out and I've had a friend make a couple of these for some of her family based on my design.
Papers are by Bella Blvd (Christmas Countdown). Numbers were cut out using my Slice machine, the lights are a Memory Box die (highlighted with many colors of Stickles glitter glue), the kitty at the bottom is a stamp by Penny Black. The ring binding was done with my Bind it All machine.
Hope everyone is on their way to being as organized as I am this year! Thanks for stopping by!
