Spotlighted

Here is another uninked stamp this one is by Hero Arts however I only bought it about 2 weeks ago. I was humming and hawing about what to do with it. I have seen many samples online done with it but was not in the mood to fussy cut out any of the flowers like quite a few people have done. The thought of coloring all those flowers seemed a bit daunting today so I decided to pull out an old but good technique - the spotlight technique. This technique is perfect for detailed stamps because you only have to color a small portion! I started this card by stamping the entire stamp on a piece of white cardstock then I used my Spellbinder long smooth rectangles to cut out a window in the middle of the cardstock. I found a matching scalloped rectangle and cut out a red mat. I colored just the middle rectangle using my Tombow markers and then attached the piece to my red mat. I stamped a Flourishes sentiment on a piece of white vellum and wrapped it round the front of my card. I added some heart gems to the vellum for some extra bling.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Hero Arts Large Flower Background & Flourishes Tag Lines
Ink: Brillance Rocket Red
Coloring: Tombow markers N00, 985, 856, 192 & 177
