Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the great Dads out there! I hope you get spoiled.
I want to take a moment to publicly thank my Dad for all his hard work at Crafty Capers over the past 12 years. In the beginning, there were many evenings Dad and I were up late with stamps all over my parent's dining room table while Dad and I worked on calculating exchange rates, pricing and shipping costs. I can't even count the number of hours he spent helping me set up Crafty's displays in various malls on the Island. Even lately, he had had "emergency" calls asking him (Mom does some of these runs too) to head to out because I am out of twoons or the damn printer is out of ink and won't print! Thanks Dad!
Here the card I made for my Dad. I used the Tim Holtz set "Travel Ways" and Teresa Collins Far and Away paper (plus a bit of Bazzill). I stamped the car with Black Versafine ink and the Route 66 is stamped with Fired Brick Distress Ink.I cut out the red and brown frames with my Spellbinder Classic Square and Classic Square Scalloped dies. I distressed the brown frame and stamped the Hero Arts sentiment with Walnut Stain Distress ink. After this photo was taken I added Glossy Accents to the car for some extra pop.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Wishing happiness

I am still playing with the new Sizzix Susan's Garden flower dies. I made another wedding card using the rose die for the store's new window display.
As previously mentioned I used the Sizzix Rose die and I added some shading using a Spun Sugar Distress marker and a water brush. The white frame was cut out using a Spellbinder Radiant Rectangle die.
I stamped a Penny Black Happiness sentiment and embossed it with gold embossing powder then layered the white panel onto a pale green cardstock. I used a strip of gold mirror cardstock, embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder, along the bottom of the card to finish it off.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

New Stampendous!

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I usually blog in the evenings and at the moment I am madly trying to wrestle weeds and get my veggie garden planted after work (planted batch #2 of beets and picked the strawberries tonight).
We got a batch of Stampendous stamps, glitter and Stufftainers (storage) in today and yesterday we received a box of Ranger goodies including but limited to Distress Ink pads, markers & stains plus Dylusions spray inks, Liquid Pearls and Cut N Dry foam.
Here are some of the Stampendous images we received today.

Stop by the store soon for best selection!

Susan's Garden Sizzix dies!

Here is another sample of the Sizzix Susan's Garden dies. This time used the Black Eyed Susan die. I cut out the flower petals with Bazzill cardstock then highlighted the petals with 025 & 062 Tombow markers. I made my flower and added some Black Stampendous Fun Flock with Glossy Accents glue.
The grey background is die cut by Spellbinder (an Expandabilities pattern). Sentiment by Flourishes.
Just a reminder there is a free demo at Crafty Capers June 8 10:30 am - 12:30 pm on the Susan's Garden dies. I've bee having so much fun with them lately!

Change for no one

I made this card a few weeks back and just realized it never got posted to the blog. It has been a strange/busy couple of weeks.
I originally had plans to use this card in a May Flowers class but have not had time to make any more class samples and May is rapidly coming to an end.
I am really happy with how this card turned out and it was fairly quick to do as well (always a bonus). I fussy cut out the flowers from a Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue paper. I made a black frame with my Spellbinder Labels 1 die then arranged the flowers to my liking. I stamped the Dylusions sentiment (change for no one and believe in who you are) then embossed the white panel with a Couture Creations embossing folder (the name escapes me at the moment) then matted everything as shown. If you have not checked out the Dylusions sentiment stamps at the store you really should they are way to funny! They make me laugh every time!

Cards for Cancer photos

At long last I have found a few moments to post of long over due photos from Crafty Capers Cards for Cancer fundraiser back at the end of April. I also, finally, have a fundraising total. Before I give the magic number I want to thank everyone who volunteered their time for this great event and also thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to participate in this event.
Now the final fundraising total.... is $717.30! That is over $100 more than the event in November 2012! Thank you everyone! All monies raised is going to Ovarian Cancer Canada.
We have plans to hold another Cards for Cancer event in October or November so keep an eye on the Crafty Capers website or this blog!
Now here are some photos from the event! These are just quick photos I snapped in between classes. Lolly was also taking photos and she has kindly scrapbooked them and they are on display at the store (isn't SHE the organized one) LOL
