Myself and a couple of customers got treated to a brayering demo by none other than Sheree of Vancouver Island Craft Junkie! She brayers pretty much the oposite to what all the experts tell you but it works for her. I will have to give her technique a try, perhaps tomorrow. Anyway, she left me with two brayered pieces of glossy cardstock so I was feeling thrifty and decided to make them into cards.
This card was pretty easy. I stamped the Stampendous autumn background stamp with Adirondack Espresso ink. I then used my Memory Box die Gentle Leaf to cut out a fern shaped hole in the glossy cardstock. I matted everything as shown and added some ribbon and Kaisercraft pearls.
Thanks everyone for stopping by.

I was issued a challenge...
I had a customer in last week (we shall call her "Michelle") and I had my Stampscapes binder lying out, open on the table. Michelle was looking through the binder and was shocked to find an unused stamp in the binder! She was so shocked in fact she issued me a challenge - to make a scene with the unused stamp AND use some of the Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue paper.
I will admit I get a bit silly when someone issues me a challenge I get an "I'll show them" type mind set. Anyway, here is my finished project and I sure showed Michelle!! LOL
Stamps used (all Stampscapes) Palm stalks (the unused stamp), Tropical Tree, Seaside cove small, Frond #3 and Milky Way large.
Inks: Archival jet black, Adirondack Aqua, Pool, Stream, Cool Peri, Purple Twilight, Eggplant, Pink Sherbet & Latte. Brillance pearlescent beige, Hero Arts Soft Sand and Antique Linen Distress Ink.
All colors were applied with a Stylus wand and tips.

Oh My Goodness
How cute are these guys??? Too cute for their own good I'd say!
These guys are from a brand new Penny Black set now in stock at Crafty Capers.
I was so glad when a friend popped by and stayed for a quick play date so I had an excuse not to work on class samples and I could crack open this new set!
I colored these guys with my Prisma pencils then sponged Adirondack Aqua, Stonewashed and Denim dye inks in the snowy areas plus the sky. I used a sentiment in the set (how cute is it??) plus some Hero Arts gems and a punched out snowflake. I finished the card with Stickles - Crystal, Waterfall and Candy Cane.
Here is what the entire set looks like.

Peel Off card
More playing with leftover sticker bits - this time it is a hat Peel Off by Elizabeth Craft Design.
This is a pretty simple card. I put the hat sticker on a scrap of Graphic 45 paper then mounted it along with a hat stand and some Peel Off circle embellishments. The saying is from a Stampers Anonymous set by Tim Holtz.
The blue green paper is leftover from my Hero Arts contest submission a week or so back.

Stampscapes Tuesday
Here is one more Stampscapes scenes not included in my class from a few weeks ago. It is a fairly simple scene with only 3 stamps used. I used the Stampscapes Small Lakeside cove and Cumulous Clouds plus the sentiment. Once again I used primarily Ranger Adironack dye inks, Archival Jet Black ink plus Memento Rose Bud ink for the sky. The sentiment is from the Flourishes Tag Lines set. I used Bo Bunny Pattern paper plus some Kaisercraft Charlotte's Dream rub ons.

Shabby Chic
I worked on a bunch of "shabby chic" cards this past week for a store display. This sort of style is not my usual "thing" however it was fun to try something new. I was also on a get rid of older embellishments kick.
I found this poor lonesome Penny Black sticker left all alone of a sticker sheet so thought I would use it up so I could throw away the backing.
I mounted the sticker on a bunch of Graphic 45 Ladies Diary papers plus used up some pieces of Coredinations cardstock. The sentiment is a Peel Off sticker. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch. Pearls by Hero Arts. I added some Fruit Punch Stickles to the butterfly bodies and some Crystal Stickles to the flower centers.
Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Beautiful butterflies
I purchased the Memory Box Moonlight Butterfly die a week or so back and had this card in my head for a few days before I found some time to give it a try. I began by cutting out a Spellbinder Labels 1 shape out of Be Creative Tape. I peeled 1 side of the tape backing off the tape and stuck the shape to a piece of white cardstock. I pulled the other backing sheet off the top of the shape and applied Glitter Ritz Warm Highlight glitter to the tape. I used the dye ink Adirondack Raspberry on the glitter to give it some color then I used my new butterfly die and cut out 3 butterflies out the glittered tape. This made 3 butterfly shaped holes. I used some BoBunny Turquois Double Dot cardstock behind the white cardstock to give the butterflies some color. I then used my Memory Box die again to cut out 3 more butterflies out of Bazzill light blue cardsotck. I used my Sakura Glue pen and added some swirls and dots then used more Glitter Ritz glitter Mystere color the gluey areas. I glued the bodies of the butterflies to the butterflies then glued them in the cardstock holes being careful to only add glue to the body areas of the butterflies so I could pop up the wings. I added a Hero Arts sentiment at the bottom of the card. Here is hoping I don't have to use this card anytime soon.

Old Watermill
Time for another Stampscapes scene.
This scene focuses on a stamp, Old Watermill, I was not crazy about a year or so back but I am really happy with how this card turned out and it may now become a favourite. :)
The scene was stamped on glossy cardstock using Stampscapes stamps Old Watermill large, Pond, Ripples and Bullrushes. I used Memento Espresso Truffle (new color) ink to stamp the pond and watermill then applied a bunch of Ranger Adirondack dye inks. I use the Adirondack inks because they have lots of colors and come in light, medium and darks shades for accurate nature scenes.
The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, lightly inked by accident ;) using a Flourishes Taglines stamp.
Hope everyone has a great week.

Hero Arts Sketch Challenge
I found a few minutes to participate in Hero Arts August sketch challenge this week. I am pretty happy with how this turned out.
I began with 100lb white cardstock and used Brillance and Versamagic inks to create a "stamp smoosh" background with 2 Hero Art heart stamps. I made my background a bit big so I then took the same heart stamps and stamped them with Black Versafine ink 3 times on my background paper and cut them out. I mounted everything as shown (as per the Hero Arts sketch) and voila! card created.
Stamps used: Hero Arts Untitled Heart set and clear sentiment
Inks: Brillance Pearlescent Jade, Versamagic Turquoise Gem, Pretty Petunia & Key Lime. Ranger Adirondack dye Purple Surf

A New Baby
My husband is getting a new baby cousin! The entire family is quite excited as this baby will make hubby's Dad a Great Uncle and his sister a Great Grandma.
The baby's parents live in London England so it will probably be a while before we get to meet her.It has been quite a while since I made a baby card so I spent a bit of time thinking on this one and I had to buy the House Mouse stamp since I could not find a single baby stamp in my stash!
Here is the card I made to welcome baby Ann to the world.
The main image is a House Mouse stamp called Nap Time 2. I colored her with my Prisma pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits and paper blending stumps. The paper is pretty much all from my stash. The sentiment is by Flourishes Tag lines set again. The embossing folder is by Spellbinder.

A beautiful weekend
Well that long weekend went fast however I am not complaining! Was glad to have some hot weather.
I have not one, but two Summer Stampscapes classes this Friday (both full but we are taking names on a waitlist for another class) so I have had Stampscapes on my brain lately. Here is a card that did not make the class cut. I thought it was a great card for right after a summer long weekend since I am sure quite a few people spent time on the water.
This scene is stamped on glossy cardstock and I used Adirondack dye inks plus Archival Jet Black ink.
All stamps used in this scene are by Stampscapes. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. Pattern paper is also by Hero Arts.

Happy Birthday Auntie Jerry!
Today is my Great Aunt's birthday. She loves my cards and keeps them in a photo album so I try to send her extra special ones. I am really happy with how this one turned out and it will be worth all the extra postage I know I am going to have to pay to get this card to Surrey. I got this layout idea from Grace
and knew the Graphic 45 Ladies Diary paper line would be perfect! I used quite a few Spellbinder dies on this project - Classic ovals, Classic scalloped ovals, Grand Labels 23, Labels 8 and Tripple scalloped edgeability. I used a Memory Box die (Amira Flourish), Kaisercraft flowers, Hero Arts gems, ribbbon and sentiments along with 1 Stampendous sentiment. Thanks everyone for stopping by! Have a great long weekend (2 days off in a row for me - yippee)!
