I bought this Memory Box Prim Poppy die back in May and have yet to use it so thought I should bring it out.
I began by cutting out the poppy image out of white cardstock then I used my Craft Concepts embossing folder Jo's Circles and embossed the "outside" cardstock. I discarded the cut out poppy. I put the white cardstock onto a piece of Be Creative tape leaving a border around all sided of the white cardstock. I cut out another poppy using only the Be Creative tape backing.
I took my scissors and cut off the poppy flowers from the tape backing then laid the poppy stems into the hole I cut out of the white cardstock. I applied Glitter Ritz Fire Red to the outside tape border and the poppie flowers. The tape backing acted like a mask for the poppy stems. Once the red glitter was applied I pulled the mask off and used Glitter Ritz Moss Green glitter on the stems and unopened poppy bud. I matted the poppy piece on black cardstock. I found a white die cut shape in my scrap bin, obviously left over from a class since there were a few of them. I stamped my Hero Arts birthday sentiment with Memento Ladybug ink then took my paper "poker" and poked holes around the outside of the die cut shape. I embossed my red cardstock with a Couture Creations embossing folder called Satine then attached everything as shown and added a May Arts ribbon.
Thanks everyone for stopping by!

A little late...
This card was SUPPOSED to be for Father's Day last weekend! (whoops!) Thankfully, we have a bunch of men's birthdays coming up in the next little while so I added a Happy Birthday sentiment instead of a Fathers Day one.
I began this card with a piece of Sticky Back Canvas and added some Hero Arts hot air balloons stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink. I colored them with my watercolor pencils then matted the piece onto a piece of scrap (BoBunny???) pattern paper then matted everything onto a piece of Hero Arts blue pattern cardstock. I messed up stamping my saying on the canvas (stamped it 1/2 on and 1/2 off the canvas) so needed to fix that boo boo so hand cut a couple of arrows and stamped happy birthday on them.
I grabbed a couple of Tim Holtz Stamers Anonymous ticket stamps and a sentiment and stamped them on more of the pattern paper then I hand cut them out. I added some Hero Arts Metallic Decor silver embellishments to the tickets and the happy birthday arrows.
Not my usual but I am happy with how it turned out.

Class reject!
I taught a Kaisercraft Charlotte's Dream card class on Friday night. Charlotte's Dream is a line of paper and the class covered 6 cards. I managed to get 8 cards made out of the papers and this is one of the cards that did not make the grade so thought I would share it with you. A nice card I just made some even nicer ones for the class. ;)
The card is straightforward main cardstock is by Bazzill. The scripty paper is part of the Charlotte's Dream collection. The tag is from the 6.5x6.5 paper pad and I stamped my Hero Arts sentiment on the tag with Versafine ink. I added a pearl and some ribbon. The fern was cut out of Charlotte's Dream paper with a Memory Box die. Here is hoping I don't have to use the card any time soon!

Up, Up and away!
Happy Father's Day!
This week was so crazy that I barely managed to get my Dad's Father's Day card made, and in fact, I had to stay late at work tonight to get it finished!
I began this card by pulling out my stipple brushes and a piece of cardstock from the recycling bin. I ripped the cardstock from the bin to make a ragged line. I placed the ripped edge on a piece of glossy cardstock and stippled Adirondack Latte ink about midway up the glossy card. Once the ink was as dark as I wanted I moved the ripped edge down and then stippled Adirondack Ginger ink (middle color) once I was happy with that I moved the ripped edge even farther down the cardstock and stippled Adirondack Pitch Black ink. I made my sky by stippling Adirondack Aqua and Stonewashed inks along with a bit of Adirondack Pink Sherbet. I grabbed my Stampscapes Pine Tree stamp and stamped it 3 times with my Memories Black ink (dye). I then thought the scene needed a little "something" and grabbed my Hero Arts balloon stamp that was on the table and stamped it with my Memories black ink. I matted the scene with blue and rust cardstock then embossed my main cardstock with a Spellbinder M-Bossability (Flora) that I had inked with Latte ink to match the scene. Once I got down to business the card probably took me 20 minutes.

A rose
This card was a contender for my Mom's birthday card but did not make the cut.
The image is by Penny Black and I colored it with my Tombow markers on watercolor cardstock after embossing the image with gold embossing powder.
I cut out the image after it was dry. I embossed my main cardstock with a new Couture Creations embossing folder called Fireflies. I matted my rose image onto the embossed main cardstock and added some Hero Arts gems to finish things off.

Another Happy Birthday
Saturday was my Mom's birthday and this is her card so I had to wait to post this until after her birthday to keep it a secret.
I pulled out my trusty brayer and used it on white glossy cardstock using Adirondack Pink Sherbet, Raspberry and Wild Plum dye inks to create a brayered background.
I then stamped a Penny Black flower stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink in a U shaped pattern around the edge of the card. I sponged Adirondack Pitch Black ink around the edges of the card using my Stylus wands and sponge tips. I cut out a Memory Box Willow dragonfly with a scrap of brown cardstock and cut out his wings with some Shimmer Sheet mylar then embossed the wings for extra texture.
The final step for this card was to pull out my Distress Picket Fence marker and do some random doodling for extra interest.
Thanks everyone for stopping by.
