Another class reject

Here is another Charlotte's Dream card class reject. All papers and die cuts are by Kaisercraft (Charlotte's Dream collection). I wanted to jazz up the brown lacy paper so I added Be Creative tape over the entire piece of paper and then added Glitter Ritz warm highlight glitter. Love this technique - it is really easy and changes up pattern paper in no time.
I used a Punch Bunch heart punch, some A Muse ribbon and a Flourishes sentiment to finish off the card.
Happy weekend everyone!

And I'm off!

Well everything is packed and I am probably loading my car as this post is going up on the blog (I scheduled it). I am headed to Jolly Old England for 2 weeks. I have scheduled a few more posts so there will be a few cards to check out while I am away. I have been looking at this Hero Arts background stamp for a while now and since I am headed there I allowed myself to buy it. :) This card was pretty quick to make. I stamped the London Background on kraft colored cardstock with Deep Lagoon Versafine ink then stamped the background again on light yellow cardstock with the same ink. I used my Spellbinder circles to cut out parts of the second stamped background. I found a scrap of dark blue cardstock and mounted it on my kraft cardstock then added my circles and Hero Arts sentiment. I matted everything as shown. I even managed to enter this card into Hero Arts' July travel themed contest.
Have a good weekend everyone. Here is hoping I don't create any drama at customs with my cast, artificial joints and medications! LOL

Rainbow hearts

I got inspiration for this card from a do it yourself wall hanging I saw on line. You basically take different sized canvases cut out a vinyal decal then painted the canvases black then peeled off the decal.
I thought the idea would be a good one to use up funny sized scraps of black cardstock.
I stamped the Penny Black cling stamp Hearts All Over on my black cardstock with Versamagic Scattered Straw ink. I let the ink dry then I colored over top of the ink with my Prisma pencil crayons because the Scattered Staw ink is so light the pencil crayons show up on problem on the black. I went for a graduated color look since I so love that look right now. I mounted my black cardstock pieces with foam mounting tape on a piece of shimmery Stardream cardstock then embossed my Thinking of You Hero Arts sentiment with silver embossing powder. If you want to recreate this card all supplies are available from Crafty Capers!

Summer Distress Inks now in stock!

The store received a batch of the new Summer Distress Inks today. Love the colors if you would like a set hurry into the store as these are a HOT item (unlike our summer so far!). Unfortunately, the reinkers we ordered for these inks did not come in but if all goes well they should arrive in 2 weeks. We also received more Graphic 45 Ladies Diary papers and the matching stickers as well as the Happy Haunting 8x8 and 12x12 paper pads.
House Mouse stamps also arrived as well, check out these cuties!

Under the Stampscapes Moon

I will be doing a Summer Stampscapes class in late July (date TBA) so have been playing with my Stampscapes stamps lately. This card was inspired by a photo of a moon I found online. I love how this card turned out but it won't be one of the class cards.
I began by cutting out a circle from glossy cardstock with my Spellbinder die. I then used a combination of Distress and Adrondack dye inks with a Stylus wand and stipple brush to apply the colors. When I was happy I stamped the Stampscapes Oak Branch with Black Archival ink then added the gulls. I cut out a black piece of cardstock the size of my card front (4.25 x 5.5) then cut out a circle the same size out of the black and put my glossy circle inside the hole so the card front is 1 smooth panel. I added another circle to the bottom of the card with the Stampscapes Buck stamped on it.
Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Birdy Hello

Here is a quick and dirty card I created last week using new a Couture Creations embossing folder called "Song Bird" (available now at Crafty Capers). I embossed the bird folder on Coredinations cardstock and sanded it to reveal the lighter core then I cut out a new(ish) Memory Box die called Meadow Bird. I embossed this bird with the Crafts Too embossing folder Petals. I mounted everything as shown. I used a Spellbinder Edgeability as well as a die from the Spellbinder Banners set. To finish the card I added some Black Enamel Accents for the bird's eye and the black dots on the scalloped edge.

Coffee and a Card Make and Take

Happy Canada Day everyone! Hope you all had a great day. I spent some of the day crafting, I know it was my day off but I still love it! My friend and I also enjoyed part of the parade in Parksville.
Just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow is Crafty Capers first $2.00 make and take of the summer. Don't forget to join us between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm for a fun, quick card perfect for any summer occasion. Don't forget your class kit (adhesives, scissors, glue pen etc).
We will also have coffee and goodies as well tomorrow. Hope to see you there.
PS I have a bunch of cards to blog but am having trouble finding the time to get them posted. Better get cracking as I am on vacation starting Friday morning!
