A rose...

Thanks so much to everyone who popped by yesterday to see the alcohol ink demo. It was a very busy day! Also, thanks to everyone who pulled me aside or sent me a personal message to let me know how inspired they were by the demo. Always, good to hear that! :)
Here is another sample from my alcohol ink demo yesterday. The (glossy) paper the Elizabeth Craft Peel Off was put on was done with the "smooshing" technique then I stuck my stickers on and hand cut them out. I added some Glossy Accents to the rose and some Stickles to the wings of the bee to add some extra dimension. I matted the stickers on a piece of SEI velvet paper (Crafty Capers is now carrying velvet paper - yeah!). The embossed background was done with a Sizzix embossing folder.

Alcohol Ink Demo tomorrow!

Crafty Capers free Saturday for March is tomorrow 10:30 - 12:30 stop by anytime during that time to see a bunch of techniques you can do with Ranger Alcohol inks. This stripy background is just one of the techniques you can do with the inks.
I am LOVING this new die by Memory Box (of course, the name escapes me at the moment). Sentiment is by Hero Arts.

More new product

We got a second order yesterday. This one had Art Impressions stamps, Tim Holtz configuration books, Prima embellishments and clear Wink of Stella brush pens. Here are a couple of photos of the new arrivals:

Memory Box new arrivals!

Crazy busy day at the store yesterday! I was in Vancouver over the weekend and brought back a giant order of Memory Box, Impression Obsession and Spellbinder dies so many in fact (MIGHT have gone a bit over board) that we have run out of hooks to display it all! Now we have run out of hooks in the past by 5 or so, but this time it is by about 50! Now we have all the new product artfully displayed on the back table and in a basket until the new hooks arrive!
I picked up a bunch of new designs from Memory Box just released a few days ago and in fact Crafty Caper is the first store on Vancouver Island to receive them! As always, Memory Box dies are popular so stop by soon for the best selection. Here are a few photos of the new arrivals.

Sweet 16!

Long time shoppers of Crafty Capers will probably remember my "baby" niece from the store's Lantzville days. Well hard to believe but she turned 16 last week, and how has her "L" drivers license (beware folk living in the Fraser Valley!!) I made this sweet mini album for her using a design from Doodlebug. I did not have any Doodlebug bags but I DO have the We R Memories Envelope Punch board so made 7 envelopes and used them as pockets (I cut off the top envelope flap) and bound them with an accordian bottom spine. Inside each pocket I put a tag and added 14 photos of Hayley over the past 16 years. It was a big hit with my niece as well as "the relatives" and I am really pleased with how cute it turned out. Hardest part of the project was picking out just 14 photos and getting them professionally printed. While searching for photos of my niece I found a bunch of "blackmail worthy" photos of my sisters so that was an extra bonus! LOL

I used Doodlebug Stickers as "pulls" for each of the tags and for the front as well. I cut out the 16 using a Memory Box die. I was in a rush to take the project photo and did not take a side view or even photos of a tag or two! Doh! All papers used are from Doodlebug's Fruit Stand collection as are the stickers.

Tim Holtz Ink Spritzers now in stock!

A very exciting day today! After a 2 month wait we finally have the new Tim Holtz Distress Marker Ink Spritzers in stock. These tools are to be used with the markers you already own (alcohol or water based markers) to give an air brush type look. This look is great with all the new stencils out on the market right now. **The Distress Marker Spritzers are now sold out however we are expecting another order around the end of the March. Contact Crafty Capers if you would like to be put on the waitlist for on of these great new tools!

 We also got in a great new die company today - Tattered Lace Dies from Britain! Here are some samples of just some of the new designs. Very different than any other dies we currently carry.

We also got the NEW Dylusions ink spray colors, New Stickles colors, NEW Ranger Alcohol Ink colors & Memory Box dies and stencils. It is likely we will be receiving another order or two tomorrow as well. No rest for the wicked! :)
